NRCAC Regional tv ad for 2007
12 hours, 13 scenes, 20 camera setups, 50 performers...
January 29 was an exciting day at the Keen Street campus making our latest television commercial. Director of Photography Andy Bambach and four of last year's Screen students (Paul Goodwin -- writer/director, Nigel Hargreaves - assistant director/stills, Tzaddi Degan -- storyboards/camera, Nick Zammit -- editor/post production) had just 30 seconds to tell the story.
The commercial follows students through a typical day at the conservatorium, as they rehearse the song "Talk To Us" with their tutors. To film the end sequence, over 50 students, tutors, actors, dancers and members of the Big Band crammed into the concert room.

Documentary -- A Journey that Changed Me by Mirabai Nicholson-McKeller
Second Place in the National Geographic film contest
Thanks to everyone who watched, rated and commented on my film. I came second in the World Nomads Travel Scholarship. And was given some great feedback from the Judge's.
Judge's comments: I thought Mirabai showed a great eye for both stunning visuals and compelling storytelling. Having spent a few days in Varanasi I though she captured the mystic and wonderment of the Ganges River beautifully. It was a really moving piece of communication and showed enormous potential for future work.
Mirabai is currently working on a longer edit of this short film.
Drama -- Expresso Love by Nick Zammit
Expresso Love brings eight dysfunctional singles aged 18-52 together in the seemingly relaxed environment of a cafe, for a lunchtime speed-dating service. More concerned about the ringing of the cash-register than whether any of the singles meet that someone special, the tables have been allocated almost randomly. As the singles meet each other for the first time, problems and dreams are revealed.
Will anyone find love ? Will any of the singles even get through a coffee together ? As the cappuccino machine works overtime to percolate another brew, attraction steams for some of our singles - but who ?
