CONSERVATORIUM EVENTS
The Northern Rivers Conservatorium is actively involved in a number of community projects, events and concerts including fundraising ventures and student projects. The NRCAC holds a Gala concert every year to promote our students and our staff. Music business students are required as part of their assessment to organise, manage and promote a variety of events in Lismore and surrounding areas.

Open Day 2009 The Northern Rivers Conservatorium is located in an historic, heritage listed building in the heart of Lismore at the corner of Keen and Magellan Streets. If you want to play an instrument or sing, alone or in a group we can cater to your needs. The Northern Rivers Conservatorium provides expert music tuition for individuals and groups in many styles from classical to contemporary, for cello to piano accordion, violin and voice, choirs and ensembles. All our students are encouraged and supported to realise their unique potential as musicians and performers. Research shows that involvement in music improves learning ability in all areas and enhances social and communication skills. It is never too early to begin or too late to realise that dream. The Northern Rivers Conservatorium caters for students from pre-school age to adults. A recent concert featured three year olds from our Early Childhood Music classes and our oldest performer was seventy-two! Remarkable! The Conservatorium employs over 50 highly qualified staff who are practicing musicians with years of professional experience. We believe in life long learning in a creative and supportive environment. We also provide classes in drama and Hip Hop. Come and meet us on Open Day, Saturday the 15th of August. We are offering free aptitude tests on any instrument. Come and try them all. Get the most out of life - pursue your passion!

A Taste of the Con...This year the Taste of the Con series was held at the Great Northern Hotel in Byron Bay. Spread across three nights in October the Taste series featured some of the fine talent that the conservatorium has to offer. The event was conceptualized by the 2008 music business students who then marketed, booked and promoted the events as part of their assessment for the Certificate IV course. you can check out their myspace page for more up-to-date information, just click here. |
A Taste of the Con...
Con-bustionAs part of the interactive nature of both Diploma students and the Cert IV students studying music business, Con Bustion is a co-operative night held in conjunction with local venue 'the Winsome hotel'. Students in their second year are encouraged to perform live along side staff members to gain first hand experience at performing MC'ing and DeeJaying. Part of the course requires the students to not only manage and book the acts for the evening but to also promote it extensively in the local press, radio and online.
