CERTIFICATE IV & DIPLOMA OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC

This hands-on course is designed to cater for a wide range of musical experience, and aims to balance practical and technical training with the business and theoretical understandings required to thrive in the music industry.  With one-on-one lessons in your chosen major (instrumental, voice, songwriting or music production), exciting public performance opportunities, visiting artist workshops and much more, we offer a dynamic and supportive environment in which to help you develop as a musician.
Successful students can continue to study for the Diploma of Music for a second year.  Students who have completed the Certificate IV have found our first year an excellent bridging programme for further tertiary study.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA OF MUSIC

Building on skills developed in the Diploma programme, the Advanced Diploma allows students to further their training in their area of specialisation, which include Jazz Studies & Improvisation, Music Production, and Performance.

CERTIFICATE IV & DIPLOMA OF SCREEN

The Con provides an exciting multi-disciplinary arts environment, offering Screen students the opportunity to collaborate with actors and musicians to produce short films, documentaries, music video clips, and to film concerts both on and off campus.
The Screen course is hands-on and project based, giving students experience in film making processes from pre- to post-production.  The Certificate IV focuses on developing post-production and video editing skills, as well as teaching students how to pitch an idea, use a camera, record sound, work with a director, and film in a multi-camera environment.
The Diploma course (a second year of study) further develops students’ skills, focusing on creative specialisation and production management, and in-depth knowledge of the film making production process.

CERTIFICATE III IN MUSIC INDUSTRY (TECHNICAL PRODUCTION)

This course covers all aspects of staging and operating the technical requirements of music based performances, from small gigs to large concerts.  Students learn to set up and operate PA and lighting rigs, as well as undertaking live and studio recording and utilising music software for composition, arranging and recording.
The Con provides an exciting multi-disciplinary arts environment, offering Tech Production students the opportunity to get hands-on experience staging a range of performances both on and off campus, and providing them with music students eager to be recorded.

CERTIFICATE II & CERTIFICATE IV IN ACTING FOR STAGE AND SCREEN

The Acting course provides a solid basis in practical, theoretical and technical skill required to work in the performing arts as an actor, in both live theatre and the film and television sectors of the industry. As well as classes in voice, movement and acting, students are expected to conduct research, participate in rehearsals and special projects (such as student films), and perform in at least two public performances each year. The Certificate IV develops many of the practical skills learned in the first year and offers students the opportunity of initiating, developing and producing their own theatre or screen project. Students have gone on from this course to creating their own works or to further tertiary study.

CERTIFICATE IV IN MUSIC INDUSTRY (MUSIC BUSINESS)


With a strong focus on the changing face of the music industry,the music business course looks at the ways of the past and studies the modernisation of music marketing and e-promotion. The aim of the course is to empower students to realise their career aspirations through self promotion, motivation, event management and project management.
