MUSIC IN SCHOOLS: BUILDING CREATIVE COMMUNITIES
The Northern Rivers Conservatorium offers a number of dynamic music programmes that can complement and enhance existing music programmes in schools. Our locally-based teachers are qualified, talented, and dedicated, offering students  a high quality and inspiring musical experience.
Early Childhood Music Classes

Aimed at children in Early Stage 1 and Stage 2, the design of the Early Childhood Music classes follows the curriculum set by the NSW Board of Studies. Each session is run by an accredited Music Teacher and equipment can be provided by the Conservatorium.

Instrumental Music Tuition
We provide expert tuition in many styles from classical to contemporary music for:
Piano
Guitar
Electric Bass
Double Bass
Drums
Vocals
Saxophone

Trombone
Violin
Viola
Cello
Recorder
Flute
Clarinet
Harp
Mandolin
Piano Accordion
Cost:
$26.00 per ½ hour lesson
$13.00 per ½ hour group lesson (i.e. 2 – 4 students per group)
$15.00 annual registration fee

When the Conservatorium delivers an instrumental music programme in a school, all administrative matters such as timetabling, invoicing and collection of fees are undertaken by the Conservatorium. Lesson timetables are devised on a rotating system so that students are not out of class the same time each week.
          
 
Percussion Workshops

The “one-off” Percussion Workshop provides an exciting music experience for students in Stages 2 & 3. Students will use traditional percussion instruments as well as learn body percussion practices from world music genres culminating in a short performance.

Playing in a band gives meaning to a student’s individual instrumental tuition. It encourages team-work and teaches listening and co-operation with others.

Instrument Hire
The Conservatorium can provide most instruments for a minimal hire fee and can also advise on purchasing an instrument.
